Position Description

The Community Engagement Specialist is a seasonal, part-time position that was created to increase the awareness of the Inland Empire Black Worker Center, build worker power and establish a solid base for education and information sharing for Black Workers. The IEBWC is looking to hire individuals who are passionate about serving their community and have an interest in and/or are passionate about civic and political engagement, labor rights, outreach and advocacy. 

This part-time position will begin in February 2024 and conclude during the fall of 2024. All specialists will work Monday-Friday with some evening and weekend expectations. 


Community Engagement Specialist


    • Part-time Seasonal

    • 25 hours a week

    • $25/hr.

    This part-time position will begin in February 2024 and conclude during the fall of 2024. All specialists will work Monday-Friday with some evening and weekend expectations.

    • Community Engagement Specialists will be responsible for the following activities

    • Monthly door to door canvassing

    • Monthly phone banking

    • Hosting and attending events including worker training sessions, listening sessions, learning sessions and community outreach events

    • Digital Content research and creation

    • Other staff support duties as assigned

    • Attend at least 2 professional development workshops

    • Be at least 18 years or older

    • Live in Riverside County or San Bernardino County

    • Be available some nights and weekends

    • Have access to reliable transportation

    • Have a computer and cell phone

    • Attend one of the mandatory information sessions (January 16th, January 22nd and January 29th)
